Lusty Love

By Dhanuka Dickwella

Love is like a dream

A dream come true

You do not wish to

Wake thyself from

Its surreal

Tender, soft and real

Warm and cozy

Like a nursed baby

Infused in a bit

Of the touch of lust

Love lives longer

Longer than just love alone

The day you deprive

Love of lust

It snarls the knell

The death knell of love

Keep it in unison

Love indulged in lust

Knowing in earnest that

They are all but distinct

Two sides of the same minted coin.

  1. This poem beautifully captures the intertwining essence of love and lust, emphasizing their symbiotic relationship like two sides of a minted coin. The vivid imagery, comparing love to a dream and a nursed baby, adds depth to the emotions conveyed. The acknowledgment that they are distinct yet interconnected resonates with the complexities of genuine connections. Dhanuka keep shining and the world shining with your own symposiums like the contemporary version of Plato.
