The Asian Journal of Literature is an annual publication by The Asian Group, the published edition of The Asian Journal, which is located in Gargaon, India. The Asian Journal offers two distinct editions: one for Literature and another for Science. The Journal for literature is now open for submissions.
AJL features works long-listed for The Asian Prize for Poetry, The Asian Prize for Short Story and the shortlisted work of the Alexandre Ndirtu Prize for World Literature, Kenya. The journal allocates 50 spaces for prose and 50 spaces for poetry, with a limit of one entry per country. All submissions must be in English. Additionally, the journal accepts 10 translations into English, comprising 5 poems and 5 prose pieces.
The prose can be short stories, flash fiction and creative letters. Submissions should not exceed 4000 words. Poems should not exceed 50 lines. Submissions need not adhere to a theme. We believe in the freedom of creative expression and do not impose thematic constraints on the work.
All submissions should be sent to the email address specified in the announcement. Each submission must include:
- A 100-110 word author biography
- The work should be submitted as an MS Word file attachment
- Please provide a high-resolution headshot of the author with a minimum of 300 dpi.
For translations into English, please include:
- Written permission from the original author or rights holder
- A biography of the original author
- A copy of the original work alongside the translation
Submissions to The Asian Journal of Literature must NOT be previously published works. This work may be published elsewhere after one year.
The Asian Journal is open for writers worldwide, irrespective of their origin and nationality.
Submissions will close on May 30th. Please note that only works selected by our editorial team will be published in the journal. We do not accept multiple submissions from the same author.
