Global Internship Programme 2026: We’re Seeking University Students for Five Key Roles

We at The Asian Group of Literature are pleased to announce the launch of The Asian Review’s comprehensive internship programme, offering university students worldwide an unprecedented opportunity to contribute to one of the globe’s most respected literary publications. Established in 2021 and ranking 13th globally amongst literary review magazines, we have emerged as the “Silk Route of Literature,” connecting East and West whilst representing notable literary personalities and emerging authors from all corners of the earth.

About The Asian Group and The Asian Review

We operate under the vision of creating “a literarily connected one world without borders” with our mission dedicated to “unearthing hidden literary gems in the four corners of our blue planet.” Headquartered in Sri Lanka, we publish multiple editions of The Asian Review, including English, Sinhala, and French versions, demonstrating our commitment to multilingual literary discourse and global accessibility.

Internship Opportunities

We offer positions across five essential areas of literary publishing:

1. Moderators – We need individuals responsible for overseeing online community discussions, moderating reader comments, and maintaining editorial standards across our digital platforms. Our moderators will ensure respectful discourse, identify quality contributions, and help foster an inclusive literary community that reflects our global vision.

2. Reviewers – We seek candidates responsible for crafting analytical literary reviews of published works submitted to our magazine by publishers, literary agents, and authors. Our reviewers will write compelling, insightful critiques that examine literary merit, thematic depth, and cultural significance of contemporary publications. This role demands exceptional analytical writing skills and broad knowledge of global literary movements and genres.

3. Social Media Promoters – We require individuals responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive digital marketing strategies to expand our global reach. This includes creating engaging content for social media platforms, coordinating promotional campaigns for featured authors, and building online communities around literary discussions and events.

4. Event Curators – We need dedicated individuals to organise virtual literary events, author readings, book launches, and cultural programmes that align with our mission of connecting global literary communities. Our curators will coordinate with international authors, manage event logistics, and create meaningful cultural exchanges through literature.

5. Editorial Assistants – We seek individuals to support our core editorial team with manuscript preparation, copyediting, proofreading, and administrative tasks essential to our magazine’s operation. Our assistants will gain comprehensive insight into the publishing process, from initial submissions through to final publication.

Programme Structure and Requirements

We have designed this fully remote programme to accommodate the academic schedules of university students worldwide. Successful applicants will commit to our six-month programme requiring 10 hours per month, totalling 60 hours of meaningful literary work. Our flexible structure allows interns to contribute from any location whilst maintaining their academic commitments.

Essential requirements include fluency in English and current enrolment at a university. We particularly welcome applications from students studying literature, journalism, communications, digital media, or related fields, though we encourage all disciplines to apply.

Institutional Partnerships

We encourage universities and educational institutions to apply on behalf of their students to establish sustainable collaborations with us. Institutional partnerships enable structured student participation whilst fostering long-term academic relationships that benefit both our mission and the institution’s educational objectives. Such collaborations can provide ongoing opportunities for student engagement in professional literary publishing.

Professional Development and Recognition

Upon successful completion of our programme, interns will receive a comprehensive service certificate recognising their contribution to The Asian Review and our affiliated ventures. This credential provides valuable evidence of professional experience in literary publishing, editorial work, and digital media—skills increasingly valued in today’s competitive job market.

Our internship offers unparalleled exposure to the international literary scene, providing interns with networking opportunities amongst established writers, editors, and literary professionals. Participants will gain hands-on experience in all aspects of our literary magazine operations, from manuscript evaluation to digital marketing strategies.

Global Reach and Impact

This initiative reflects our commitment to nurturing the next generation of literary professionals whilst expanding our global presence. By engaging university students from diverse cultural backgrounds, our programme enriches our international perspective and ensures continued growth in readership and contributor diversity.

The remote nature of our programme eliminates geographical barriers, allowing us to attract talent from universities across continents. This approach aligns with our founding principle of creating connections across borders through literature.

Application Process

We encourage interested students to prepare comprehensive applications demonstrating their passion for literature, relevant academic background, and commitment to our programme’s duration. Applications must be submitted to The Asian Review’s general email address with the subject line “Internship 2026”.

The application deadline is 31st August 2025, and successful candidates will commence their internships in January 2026. Our selection process will prioritise candidates who exhibit strong communication skills, cultural awareness, and enthusiasm for promoting literary arts. Applicants should clearly indicate their preferred internship role and provide examples of relevant experience, whether academic, professional, or voluntary.

This groundbreaking initiative positions us at the forefront of literary education and professional development, creating pathways for students to contribute meaningfully to global literary discourse whilst developing essential professional skills for their future careers.
