Children of Gaza and Isreal

Children of Gaza and Isreal

By Dhanuka Dickwella

Vengeance – Retribution – Justice

The cousins of the same family

Only with minor differences

Bloodline the same

One cry for blood

One for an eye to eye

The other seems noble

In the eyes of humans

For the cousins happiness

There is always ,

A price one must pay .

A price paid by

Another human being

Whose more noble

Whose more prudent

Whose virtue is high

Ask the dead Arabic & Jewish children

  1. What I feel is, this is a thought-provoking exploration of complex themes related to vengeance, retribution, justice, and morality. The reference to “Arabic & Jewish children” in the final line provides a poignant connection to real-world conflicts, underscoring the poem’s relevance in a broader social and political context. The ambiguity in the poem adds depth, leaving certain questions unanswered, which I prefer that way. This poem is a compelling piece of work that encourages reflection and discussion on important ethical issues. Another great output by Dhanuka.
